The terms “baptism” and ‘christening” are often used interchangeably. Although a person of any age can be baptized, we most often use the word “christening” in reference to an infant or a very young child.
As ordained clergy with the Community Catholic Church of Canada, baptism is one of the seven sacraments of our church. We will baptize your child with Holy Water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. A baptismal certificate will be presented.
You are welcome to include Godparents in the ceremony. They will witness and pledge their support to assist you in the spiritual development of your child in the Christian faith.
If you don’t have a church affiliation or if you feel uncomfortable in such a setting (single parent or same-sex parents) you will appreciate our ability to baptize your child in your own home, or in a venue-like setting with a reception afterwards.
We will also perform Baptismal services for adult persons wishing to be accepted into the Christian faith.
